Sequencing
   

The "Sequencing" portion of our Teacher Training program trains students in intelligent linking or sequencing of postures that informs a complete practice.  This module includes:  Sequencing of asanas, correctly demonstrating standing and balancing asanas, hands on assisting in standing and balancing poses, effective verbalizing skills and pacing, how to create or enhance vinyasa flow in the class and in your students. This module is designed to inform and empower committed practitioners as well as teachers with the knowledge necessary to heighten the effects and benefits of their own or their student's practice.

By learning to teach with more self-awareness, knowledge, authenticity and confidence, you will better address the needs of your students and stand out in an ever-expanding community of yoga teachers. Our program brings together essential teaching techniques to illicit and help you step into your own greatness while learning to support others to step into theirs.

 

**Prerequisite: Level 1: Foundation

 

   

Sequencing Includes:

• How to prepare and teach an intermediate vinyasa practice

• The physical bio-mechanic considerations of safe and affective sequencing

• The energetic effects of major asanas

• Orchestrating the arc of a class at the levels of mind, body, and energy

• Hands on Assists - Part 2 & 3

• Groups of Asanas

• Purpose of Asanas

• Heightening the accessibility to more challenging poses by teaching in kramas

• The asanas and pranayama practices that support particular meditation techniques

• Effective demonstrating of standing and balancing asanas

• Working with Beginners

• Skillful language and cueing and how to link specific asanas

• Supportive environment to build your confidence as a yoga teacher

• Finding and cultivating your unique voice as a teacher

• Vinyasa Technique

• The Five Elements & the Five Movements of Prana: Theory, Application & Practice

 

• Daily micro-meditations to cultivate your center while living yoga off the mat

To apply for our Teacher Training, please fill out our Application Form

Please do not submit your deposit with your application.  You can submit payment upon application review and acceptance to the program.  We accept Master/Visa cards as acceptable forms of payment.

 
 

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Although anyone has the potential to be a great yoga teacher, having a regular yoga practice and a general familiarity and knowledge of yoga will greatly help and accelerate your learning on the teaching path.  It is recommended that:

  • Applicants have a regular and consistent yoga practice for a minimum of 6 -12 months
  • Demonstrate the desire of deepening their own yoga practice while supporting other students on their yogic path
  • Attend regular community yoga classes with the senior trainers at The Studio DC during the training sessions
  • Complete all homework assignments
  • Has a proficient practice of Level 1.5 classes at The Studio DC

 

 


 
   

AFTER GRADUATION

Upon completion of all 3 Modules, graduates of the 200 Hour Program will have the opportunity to participate in our innovative and nurturing Teacher Development Program:
